Why Use Halon?

Halon 1211 (Bromochlorodifluoromethane) is simply put one of the best fire extinguishants known to man. Here are some facts about Halon:

• Halon 1211 has three times the fire fighting effectiveness of CO2.
• Halon 1211 is discharged as a liquid with fast breakup. This makes it easy to direct and it reaches into hard to penetrate places.
• Halon is non-conductive of electricity and is effective on all three classes of fires, A, B and C.
• Halon does not cloud vision so it does not affect the ability of the driver to see an exit in case of a serious accident.

In certified tests of our fuel cell design, our SS-200 model put out a fuel cell fire in one second, after a six second burn!
