Frequently Asked Questions

Is "Halon" safe to use?

Halon itself is not harmful to humans. Halon can replace breathable air in a confined space and so should only be used with adequate ventilation. In the event of a fire the risk of injury due to flames and smoke is much higher than the any possible risk associated with using halon to extinguish it. Halon 1211 is not listed as a carcinogen by IARC, NTP or OSHA.

Is using "Halon" legal?

Environmental laws have ruled that no more new halon can be manufactured. However, existing halon can be legally packaged and sold until a time when the stock is depleted. Especially in race car fuel cells, professional racers rely on halon over anything else. We will continue to make this kind of extinguisher available because absolutely nothing beats halon for putting out a fire. When stockpiles are exhausted, we will be offering the other "Clean Agent Gas" alternatives.

Why are there different extinguishants used in your products?

For different application, our products can be used in closed as well as open compartments.  Fire acts differently in environments, in closed compartments, clean agent gas products are preferred while in open comaprtments such as motor and generator compartments where the clean agent gas extinguishants may dissipate rapidly we have AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming "Foam") units that will stay at the fire source.

We offer you a wide range of options in liquified fire extinguishants to best suit your needs including:

Clean Agent Gas Extinguishants

  • Halon 1211
  • Halon 1301
  • Dupont FE36
  • HFC-227

The term "Clean Agent Gas" refers to extinguishants who deprive oxygen by inducing a non flammable gas into the atmosphere at the fire.  This form of extinguisher is extremely effective, especially in confined compartments.  5% by volume of Halon induced into the atmosphere at a fire will not allow ignition.

Foam Agent Extinguishant

  • AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam)

Are there insurance discounts for having an auto deploy fire suppression system in my vehicle?

In many states, there are discounts available for having an auto-deploy fire suppression system in your vehicle.  Check with your insurance underwriter on this.

Are there any shipping considerations?

Because our products are highly pressurized, fire extinguishers have to be shipped as hazardous materials. Accordingly, a $25 hazardous materials shipping fee must to added to freight costs for these units. However, if you buy more than one unit we will pay the hazardous materials fee!

How fast can I get my unit delivered?

If you order directly over the internet using Visa, Mastercard or Paypal, or call us at 321-299-5707, we can usually ship next day.
